A new character is introduced! Welcome to the KSN... Krodhi's Shopping Network, where all your dreams are just a few platinum pieces away!
What exactly is our fascination with buying stuff? As a culture, we seem intent on acquiring things with no real consideration towards actually owning them.
I must get that!!!! But you have one...
Oh, uh, nevermind. *sulks*
Speaking of which, there's this camera I must absolutely buy! Well yes, I know I don't use the one I have already, but that's because it's not like the one I don't have. But, but... the numbers are bigger on all the descriptions of it!
I might as well get around to introductions with my characters... and it's about time, I say! I like Leiche Katz a lot as a character. He's certainly talented enough and quite capable as an adventurer. Yet at the same time he is a bit apathetic about the world around him and somewhat resigned to merely being a video game character despite his frustrations with the quirks that entails. He does love his jumjum though!
Alas! The jumjum only lasts so long and soon he will be up to his old antics... which usually means trouble for Toterhund! Although I think I'll make it a point to showcase a couple of my as of yet unseen characters in the next few videos. They are just as quirky as my others, and maybe even a little more fun.
I'd really like to utilize Leiliara pretty soon. She's my Bruiser and while not quite as powerful as Kaberu (yet!) she can kick some hefty butt if the mood takes her. Technically her full name is "Leiliara Ariloulaleelay" which fulfilled two purposes: For one, I loved Star Control and the Arilou Skiff was an awesome little ship. Second, a guild mate had a hard time pronouncing "Leiliara" (Lay-lee-ar-uh) so I figured I might as well make it near impossible just for the fun of it.
I can be a dick like that sometimes.
Krodhi is a little old man of a gnome and it turns out he has a side job as a travelling merchant which should make for some interesting skits. He's still working his way up the levels, but he's still got some spunk left in his old bones! An interesting little tidbit: Krodhi means "grumpy" in Hindi... at least as far as Google tells me.
And last but not least, I have Toterhund! Not the one you expect though! This Toterhund I made just to reserve the name but I started playing him anyway. He is entirely unrelated to the Toterhund that Leiche pals around with. In the videos I might start referring to him by a different name as it might get a bit confusing. He's sort of a... well, I'll leave that for a surprise I guess. I can say I'll use him to poke fun of people with preconceptions...
This is an older bit I put together after a goofy conversation with my brother Joe. The idea of a selling a torture device as if it were an infomercial product was just too good to pass up. It's a bit silly, but I love it!

I tried to get just about every game in that reference that I could but I'm sure I missed a few good ones. Also, I think there's a character limit so I probably can't expand it much more anyhow.
I just love those good ol' RPGs though! The NPCs that repeat the same line over and over, those pesky little sidekicks, that goofy equipment progression (seriously, who makes wood swords?! Look, it's not a wooden sword, it's just a poorly made club!), and many other quirks of the genre.
I think some of my favorites are Earthbound (I wish I could keep those photos from the end of the game), Lunar (I love the original on Sega CD but I think the remakes were better), Final Fantasy VII (Woah! Wait! Did he just... I am going to &@#%ing kill Sephiroth!), and recently Lost Odyssey (To retain my manlihood: I was cutting up onions while I played... a lot of them).
In MMOs, you can have your character perform emotes (aka: animations) by using what are called slash commands. For example, if I want to dance I just type "/dance" and my character will dance. Get it now? Slash Pickupline... Get it? Bah! Whatever!
I think what I love most about Garran is how oblivious he is to the reality of a situation. I'm not sure if that plays out much here, but it certainly will in upcoming videos!
This is my first attempt to integrate combat into my videos. I figured I could try using normal combat first knowing it would look second rate and of course, it wound up looking second-rate. I'm going to try a choreographed fight scene some time in the future although the regular fighting system does produce gems every now and then.
I figured out I could nearly mute just the character voice volume while leaving the background sounds so I could get the talking animations. As you can tell in this video, I found out afterwards as the sound completely mutes when certain characters talk.
I learned my lesson though so my later videos should gradually increase in quality as far as sound is concerned.
The particular area this is filmed in is called the Clefts of Rujark... hence the clever title!
